Well, I think many of us are getting the hang of this blog. I think I have fixed the photos so that you can click into Picasa and see the photos. I will try to update them every few days so that you can see what we have been doing. For those of you who were on the Alaska cruise with us, I will try to put our photos on Picasa also. The good thing about that tool is that you can download any of the photos you want and keep them, which other tools don't let you do.
Some of you have sent e-mails about the blog but don't feel comfortable with commenting on the blog. It is certainly okay to do it any way you feel comfortable, but setting up a blog account so that you can leave comments is not very difficult. You set up a name you want to use when you leave your messages (mine is TravelingGypsies) and a password, then each time you leave a comment you will have to sign in with those, but that is all there is to it. No matter how you want to leave us messages, we enjoy hearing from all of you.
Love, Deanne

Deanne and Mike - it is so GREAT to get to read about your adventures - keep up the writing - I am so impressed! The pictures keep me from missing you guys too much!!
Also - PLEASE send Catie's address, we want to see her mail but there was no address on the post card you guys forwarded along. Thanks! Lib and Jane
Hola! I want to be sure to speak to you in your native tongue!!! Sounds like the adventures continue. Funny how Mickey D's has the best burger in Portugal! I tried to get into Picasso and was able to get in, but can't seem to find your album. Am I doing something wrong? I keep getting asked to upload my album.
Keep the great stories coming, I look forward to them every day!!!
Love you lots and lots.
Big Sis
Hey Dee, still can't access the pics. I think you have to choose "make my public albums searchable" and we can search by your name. Either way, the pics you posted on the previous post are lovely.
Got an email from Caitie today. We only correspond in Spanish and I have to say ---- she's speaking/writing like a local.

Picasa advise --- click on the album you posted and underneath the thumbnail choose "embed slideshow" to create protable slideshow on your blog.
thanks for all of the advice and comments. I worked on Picasa somemore last night and will try to fix.

Come on you guys! If a 70+ year old "Mom" isn't frightened of the "blog" than you shouldn't be either! The ridiculously funny part is that I was the one that actually walked her through how to do it. For any of you that know me ~ you're still laughing out loud!! Stories are GREAT! Too bad I can't retire and just hang out at the computer to blog all damn day ~ somebody has to work in this family!!! Curious - any hot news coming out of Europe about the Tour de' France? We've been watching it on TV everyday and the doping scandals are amazing. Love ya, me
Yeah, the tour de France is pretty big news. So is the weather over here. Flooding in England andheat in Eastern Europe.
I have a "blog etiquette" question. Are we supposed to add our new comments to the new posting OR do we go back and add comments to the corresponding blog entry? I can't keep track anymore! Just curious. Keep on trekking! Love, me
Deanne and Mike,
Gerry and I are so VERY impressed with your Blog, your writing, your adventuresome spirits, and your budget! As your Auntie who loves you, and a former travel agent, however, I would have suggested you not leave home without some guides, like Rick Steves' from Seattle, who travels the back roads on a low budget, and suggests quaint and inexpensive places to eat and stay, and when to take a bus or a train. As a matter of fact, I would be happy to send you a Spain or Italy guide, if you can give me an address. I know you are having another kind of experience in getting around, but the guides can save you time and money. Nag, Nag, Nag! OK, I'll shut up.
I do see a book in all of this. Keep on writing the details, that's what will make your book so interesting, and of course the photos! And don't forget to include your arguments, and your feelings about everything you see.
And enjoy yourself tremendously every day. (We just went to a memorial service on Wednesday).
With much love and good tidings,
Auntie D and Uncle G
